Who We Are
Indy Climbing Wall is just over the bridge on Anglesey, at Plas Llanfair. We’re an independent wall, run by climbers, for climbers, and a hub of the North Wales climbing community. Everyone is welcome here.
The Wall
50+ lines, 90+ routes (Fr 3-7c), 120+ boulders (Font 3-8a / VB-V11), auto-belays and the steepest lead wall in North Wales.
Training Area
Fully equipped training area with weights, squat rack with cable machine, fingerboards and lattice aids.
The Cafe
Fresh organic coffee and tea, snacks and a comfy spot to refuel between climbs or watch others on the wall.
Open to Everyone
Whether you’re brand new, easing back in after a break, or training hard for your next project, Indy is your local wall.
Meet the Team
A small, climber-run team. Climbers themselves, with decades of climbing and instructing between them.
Jon — Owner & Manager, Setting Team
Jon is the owner and manager. He’s managed the wall for longer than most of us have been climbing, and climbed for longer than most of us have been alive. Still as keen as ever.
Fav hold set: Ex-Cult Acanes (when Olly hasn’t hidden them).
Olly — Assistant Manager & Setting Team
Adventurous trad first, but Olly will happily take anything from snow and ice to plastic indoors. The tallest member of the team.
Fav hold set: Dark Green Axis.
Ben — Team Leader, Setting Team & Social Media
Came to the wall as a fresh-faced 18-year-old and now part of the team. Big contributor to the setting at Indy. Most at home on the steep faces.
Fav hold set: Big Blue Core Sausages.
Hannah — All round climber
Life long snowboarder at heart, turned to mountain bikes after a knee injury, then found climbing through her mildly climbing-obsessed partner. Needs to spend the majority of her time outside around mountains and plants. Happiest trying to decipher the geological history of rock while teetering up alpine trad routes or hanging on a belay talking to seals on the sea cliffs of Gogarth.
Fav set holds: Purple Arctic Edges.
Alice — All round climber & Setting Team
Alice has been on the team for a few years now and spends most of her time making things happen behind the scenes, whilst still sneaking onto the setting team. She’s happiest on technical, crimpy climbing where precision & position beats power, and loves using footholds as handholds, just to keep everyone guessing.
Outside the wall you’ll find Alice exploring North Wales with her dog Rocky, and taking refreshing dips in the river.
Favourite hold set: Lapis Triangles.
Joe — The comp kid
Joe is the adrenaline junkie and long-term comp kid of the team, having spent more than half his life climbing plastic across the UK and beyond. Be it climbing, mountain biking, sailing or snowboarding, you’ll always find Joe chasing the next adventure.
Fav hold set: Yellow Arctic Edges (the small ones!).
